Welcome to Pikes Point Resource Recovery Facility (PPRRF), located in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga at 81 Captain Springs Road.

Waste acceptance

The facility is fully licenced and consented to receive the following materials.

Non–hazardous solid waste materials acceptable for disposal are:

  • Household waste

  • Greenwaste

  • Business waste

  • Industrial waste

  • Construction and Demolition waste

  • Special wastes by arrangement

Acceptable recyclable materials, received in separated loads only, include:

  • Greenwaste

  • Cardboard

  • Wood

  • Refrigerators

  • Waste electrical and electronic equipment

  • Tyres

  • Ferrous (steel) and nonferrous materials

These items are charged at the posted gate rates (see Pricing)

Materials not accepted are:

  • Dusty wastes

  • Asbestos

  • Liquid wastes

  • Hazardous waste materials i.e. corrosive, oxidisers, toxic, flammable, explosive materials

  • Radioactive waste

  • Lithium batteries (unless declared to the weighbridge)

  • Odourous waste

  • Animal parts

  • Car components such as engines, gearbox, differentials due to oil and fuel contents.
